Lost & Found

The HHS scans all stray and found animals for microchips and calls all phone numbers on animals with tags when they are turned in at our shelter. 

·We will hold animals for 3 -5 days to give owners a chance to reclaim before adoption determination is made. 

·Proof of ownership (current photos, vet records, etc) must be provided, at which point, our staff will compare to our found animals in an attempt to make a positive identification. 

·Owners can email photos and pet description to lostandfound@houstonhumane.org and a staff member will personally check our found animal area and reply.
