Flea Market Breeder Surrenders Over 95 Animals to Houston Humane Society
Harris County Animal Cruelty Taskforce was contacted by the breeder to take in the animals. The owner lost her husband last month and has become overwhelmed with the illegal business.
The city of Houston Animal Enforcement BARC officer was on the scene and describe the living conditions of the animals as very dangerous and inhumane. The living areas were extremely filthy. All animals were kept in the same small outdoor space with urine and feces on the floors. Leaving the animals at risk of spreading diseases.
In total 95 animals were surrendered over, including 15 Pot Belly Pigs, 75 parakeets, 2 guinea pigs, 3 Chihuahuas. Three of the female pigs are pregnant and expecting any day now.
