Q. I can no longer keep my pet. Will the Houston Humane Society accept him/her?
A. Houston Humane Society will not euthanize a healthy/adoptable animal to make space for another animal.
If space is not available, you are welcome to check back in a few days. You are also invited to click here

We accept pets Monday through Thursday - 11:00 am to 3:00 pm (as space is available)
There is a $35.00 fee for all animals accepted into our adoption program.
There is a $15.00 fee for each puppy or kitten in a litter with a maximum fee of $50.00.
At this time, Houston Humane Society is unable to accept stray animals.

Q. What if I change my mind and want my pet back?
A. Unfortunately once your animal has begun the intake process all information is kept confidential.

Q. How do I file a cruelty report?
A. You can file a confidential cruelty report online at our Report Cruelty page. You may also contact our Animal Crimes Unit at (713) 433-6421 Ext. 396.
Q. Does the Houston Humane Society pick up stray animals?
A. We are not allowed to pick up animals that are considered strays. Please click here for a list of Animal Control agencies around the Greater Houston area.
