Animal Cruelty Survivor Gets Second Chance at Love

The Houston Humane Society partnered with Harris County Constable's Office Precinct 5 and South Houston Animal Control to help a 9 year-old black lab mix named Missy.

This sweet girl was seized because of a severely embedded collar (something which takes weeks, if not months, to occur!). Missy required weeks of antibiotics, pain meds, and wound care.  Missy’s a sweet disposition throughout her recovery made her a staff and volunteer favorite from the very beginning.

Once her wounds were healed, we knew her forever family was out there somewhere…

Thanks to our friends at KPRC Channel 2 who featured our wonderful girl Missy,  the most amazing family fell in love with Missy. She officially went home on Saturday, August 16, and she now has 2 canine siblings and fantastic parents.
