Vandi Polanco, Interim Development Director

 

Vandi N. Moore-Polanco, MBA serves as Interim Director of Development for Houston Humane Society. Vandi has more than 18 years of fundraising experience across higher education and nonprofit development, with knowledge spanning fundraising strategy, donor engagement, development operations, constituent management, and philanthropy. She has successfully led fundraising operations that support organizational growth, strengthen donor relationships, and build sustainable philanthropic programs.
 
Before joining Houston Humane Society, Vandi spent more than 11 years at The Council on Recovery, where she served as Director of Development Operations & Engagement. During her tenure, she oversaw development operations, constituent management, fundraising planning, and strategic engagement initiatives that strengthened the organization’s philanthropic efforts. She also held development positions at the University of Houston and Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She earned her MBA from the University of Phoenix and her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Texas Southern University.
 
Vandi’s passion for animal welfare began at a young age while helping her grandparents care for animals. She is grateful for the opportunity to turn that lifelong passion into meaningful work at Houston Humane Society.
