What's Up at Wildlife

The Houston Humane Society is as committed as ever to the health and well-being of our community’s wildlife and recognizes their importance to our ecosystem and quality of life. Earlier this year, our board of directors determined that our wildlife services needed to reset its strategic direction and, while this process goes forward, has paused wildlife rehabilitation services. We empathize with those affected by this change. Coinciding with this change, we are referring animals in need to other qualified rehabilitation centers for care. If you have an injured wildlife species that needs care, please review Animal Help Now’s website for a comprehensive list of resources.

The Houston Humane Society prides itself on being a good steward of donor dollars, and we’re truly grateful to every donor who has supported our wildlife rehabilitation efforts and vision for a new wildlife center. Please know that all funds raised specifically for the new wildlife center facility are being held in reserve for that purpose as our planning process continues. We look forward to sharing those plans in the future.

The Houston Humane Society is committed to having a strong and vibrant wildlife program and to creating an exciting new wildlife center.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue to grow, adapt, and serve families and their pets in the Houston area.

Our Wildlife Team is Hard at Work!

While we plan for the future of wildlife services, our dedicated team is staying busy and making an impact by focusing their care on nontraditional domestic animals. From feathered friends to scaly sidekicks, they’re saving lives and improving care.

Stay tuned, we can’t wait to share more of their adventures with you soon!
