The Houston Humane Society has a professional veterinarian staff that can administer a variety of medical services to your dog or cat. From pet vaccinations to amputations and other forms of pet surgery, our vets have you and your pet covered for an affordable cost.
Pet vaccinations are vitally important for the physical well-being of your dog or cat throughout his or her life. They expose your pet’s immune system to a low-level version of a specific virus or bacteria to encourage the development of specific antibodies that protect against the illness. Pet vaccinations save millions of dogs every year from illness and death caused by many difficult or life-threatening conditions. Pet vaccinations must be administered by a professional in a specific timeframe for the maximum protection; we can begin administering puppy and kitten vaccinations as soon as they are 6-8 weeks old. Our clinic can walk you through the pet vaccination process because it depends on your pet’s age, breed, and specific medical background. In addition to pet vaccinations, we also operate as a spay and neuter clinic to help prevent the development of future medical issues from occurring.
If your dog is ill or you have any concerns about his or her health, you can turn to our affordable pet clinic for helpful exams and a thorough diagnosis that won’t drain your wallet. Contact us to schedule an appointment or visit our walk-in Veterinary Clinic today to receive the pet vaccines or treatment your dog needs!

The Houston Humane Society Veterinary Clinic is proud to offer spay and neuter services for animal guardians in the Houston, TX area. While your pet is at our animal clinic, we will ensure that they are comfortable and calm throughout their visit. Our Veterinary Clinic suggests spaying or neutering your pet to prevent the development of future medical conditions. Spaying or neutering your pet also helps control the crisis of animal homelessness in Houston, TX. To schedule a spay or neuter surgery, contact our animal clinic in Houston, TX.
Spaying your cat or dog will provide them with a longer life by preventing uterine infections and breast tumors. In addition, spayed animals won’t go into heat, thus a neutered animal may be less likely to run away in search of a mate. Neutering your pet can help prevent testicular cancer and prostate issues. This practice also helps males behave better as they are less likely to mark their territory and mount people or objects.
Moreover, millions of healthy dogs and cats are being euthanized each year in the United States because there aren't enough homes for them or unexpected litters are born and people are unable to care for all. To help control this crisis, it is important to spay or neuter your pet. Not only will these procedures help the animal homelessness crisis, but they offer other medical and behavioral benefits for your pet as well.
Thus, the small cost of these procedures is far less than the cost of having a litter. If you are interested in having your furry friend spayed or neutered, please feel free to contact our spay and neuter clinic in Houston, TX today to request an appointment! Our veterinary staff are proud to help pet owners throughout the region protect their pets from future medical complications with safe and effective spay and neuter services. We'd be happy to answer any of your questions.

For dogs 5 years old and up, we require the general Total Health Profile blood work to be done for $120, which is prepaid at the time of booking the surgery. This blood work is done the morning of surgery to determine if your dog is healthy enough to undergo the procedure. If a veterinarian determines your dog cannot have the surgery, you will be called and your $50 non-refundable deposit that is used towards your surgery fee balance will be returned to you.
Costs from $15 to $105. Pyometra prices may vary.
Clients MUST schedule an appointment for all Spay and Neuter surgeries. Before we can confirm your spay/neuter appointment, we must receive a non-refundable $50 pre-payment by credit/debit card over the phone. This $50 fee will be credited toward the cost of your pet's surgery fee, along with any other services performed on that day.
If it is necessary to reschedule your spay/neuter appointment, you must provide us with at least 48 hours' notice in order for us to transfer your $50 prepayment to a new appointment date. Failure to keep a scheduled appointment or failure to give at least 48 hours' notice for rescheduling an existing appointment will result in loss of your $50 prepayment.
For dogs over 5 years of age, we require the general Total Health profile blood work for $120. Blood work is done the morning of surgery and must be prepaid at the same time that the appointment is scheduled along with the non-refundable $50 deposit that is required for surgery. The blood work checks on the organs' functions in the body and is done for the safety of your pet.
NOTE: All animals spayed or neutered by the Houston Humane Society receive a tattoo signifying the animal has been sterilized, thereby preventing unnecessary future surgery. In addition, if your pet gets lost and ends up at a shelter, tattooed animals are generally held longer at the shelter and are more often put up for adoption.
The Houston Humane Society highly recommends that your dog(s) have a Bordetella Vaccine (for kennel cough) at least 2 weeks prior to surgery. Vaccination for Bordetella does not prevent all upper respiratory diseases, but is highly recommended. The stress of being away from normal surroundings can lower an animal’s immune system, making them more susceptible to illness. Please help keep other pets healthy by vaccinating yours!
