Companion Camp is a wonderful opportunity for children ages 7-13 to learn valuable life lessons concerning the welfare of all animals.  During a typical day, campers receive humane education, interactive show-and-tell from animal experts, veterinarian lessons and observations, fun games, camp crafts, and tons of hands-on time with shelter animals. We have week-long sessions throughout the summer, with different speakers and topics each week. This camp is a must for all kids!

Who can attend Companion Camp?
Companion Camp is open to ages 7 to 13 on all weeks. Teen Week is open to ages 12 to 15 on the week of July 8-12.

What is a typical day at Companion Camp like?
Every day our campers learn animal welfare lessons, spend time outside playing games, in the shelter socializing with the animals, making personalized camp crafts, and attending animal expert show-and-tells. Companion Camp activities promote creativity, critical-thinking and animal advocacy. Campers will be visited by guest speakers who work with animals professionally. Speakers include: dog trainers, wildlife rescue, animal cruelty investigators, therapy dogs, mini-pigs, horses, reptiles, AND each week campers will receive a lesson by our veterinarian and have the chance to observe a spay/ neuter surgery. Our aim is to provide a well-rounded environment for our students that allows them to forge new friendships and creatively cultivate a strong sense of compassion and responsibility for all living things.
