One of our core values is working together with our community to advance animal welfare.
Today our community partners, Best Friends Animal Society, shared their 2025 data report, which highlights a powerful milestone: The first sizable overall decrease in dogs and cats killed in shelters since the start of the pandemic.
In Texas, real progress is being made, but we have a long way to go. The lone star state still remains number one for euthanasia and unfortunately Houston is a major factor. So, we need your help!
Houston Humane Society is at the forefront of this fight to significantly decrease euthanasia in our community, achieving a 93% total save rate in 2025. Houston Humane also is committed to saving lives and decreasing the number of dogs and cats euthanized all along the Gulf Coast of Texas.
How will we achieve this?
All of this is only possible with your support!
Make your gift today and help give pets the healthy, safe future they deserve.
