Boom the Dog Has Been Waiting Almost 200 Days — Can You Be His Hero?
At just 2 years old, Boom has already been through more than most dogs his age. For almost 200 days, this sweet boy has been patiently waiting at our shelter, hoping for the day someone walks through the door and says, “That’s him. That’s my dog.”
Boom recently had a special moment that melted all of our hearts. While visiting the KPRC2 news station for a spotlight segment, Boom did something he hadn’t done in a long time — he laid down on a rug. That might not sound like much, but for a shelter dog used to concrete floors and kennel noise, it was a quiet, peaceful moment that reminded us how deeply he craves the comfort of a real home.
Boom is everything you could ask for in a family dog. He’s fantastic with kids, gentle and patient, and he gets along beautifully with other dogs. Whether it’s playing in the yard or snuggling on the couch, Boom just wants to be part of a loving family.
He’s house-trained, affectionate, and still has that young-dog energy without the puppy chaos. His soulful eyes and wagging tail greet everyone with hope — hope that someone will finally see in him what we see every day: a loyal, loving companion who just needs a chance.
