Cat Cruelty 1-25-16

On January 25, 2016, Our Animal Cruelty Investigations Team was contacted by an outside agency to assist in an animal cruelty investigation.  Apparently a cat was caught in an inhumane trap, and it suffered grave injuries.  The photos are too graphic to share, but this pet suffered needlessly.  Multiple bones were exposed, the skin on his back was scalped, and numerous injuries were present.  Unfortunately, due to the severity of the case, our Chief Veterinarian made the tough decision to humanely euthanize this poor kitty.  This is currently an ongoing investigation.

There are no boundaries for abusers.  The link between cruelty to animals and violence towards humans has been proven time and again.  If you know of a case of animal cruelty or neglect, be the voice that speaks out.  We partner with Harris County Constables Office Precinct 5 so that ALL reports made to the Houston Humane Society are handled by a police officer.  You can call in a report at 713-341-3396 OR submit a claim online 24/7.
