Meet Chicken – She Crossed the Road... and Made It to the Other Side 🐾
Chicken is a beautiful and resilient cat with a story as unforgettable as her name. Earlier this year, she was found injured and alone on the side of the road after being hit by a car. At the time, she couldn’t even stand, and her survival was uncertain. But true to her name and her spirit, Chicken crossed the road, and made it to the other side.
Thanks to the quick action of a kind stranger and the tireless efforts of our veterinary team, Chicken began an extraordinary journey of healing. She underwent surgery for a severe abdominal herniation, endured pelvic fractures, and survived tail skin necrosis. Her road to recovery has been long and challenging, but Chicken never gave up.
Now, months later she’s walking, purring, and happily making biscuits. Every day, she shows more of her gentle, affectionate spirit and reminds us what resilience truly looks like.
Chicken is still in recovery, but she’s officially starting her search for a forever family. Could that be you?
HHS will continue to cover all of Chicken’s medical care during her recovery, which includes bandage changes and regular rechecks to ensure she keeps progressing. All she needs now is a loving, patient home to continue her healing journey in peace and comfort.
From roadside rescue to ready for adoption, Chicken’s journey is nothing short of miraculous. She’s not just surviving—she’s thriving. And while she may still have a little way to go physically, her heart is fully ready to love and be loved.
