Last September we adopted 2 of the Grimes County hording puppies. My husband and I are in our late 60"s. Someone said you saved their lives, but really they saved ours. We were one of those affected by Harvey and lost 75% of our belongings. We lost one of our cats (21 years old) after he suffered a stroke 2 months later and then the following July our beautiful dog, Gracie (13 years old). When we got them, they were Bluebell (Pepper) and Keenum (Archie). Pepper was 14 weeks old and 4 pounds, now 16 months and 9 pounds. Archie was 10 months old and 10 pounds and now ,almost 2 (November 6) and 18 pounds. Someone told me ,as we were checking out ,that Pepper had been up for adoption 3 times, as recently as the day before and the reasons he was not chosen. …. they wanted assurance that his coat would fill in..Sending pictures of them the day we got home and also recent ones. Thank you for giving them the chance to choose us.
