Houston Humane Society, one of the city’s largest and most trusted nonprofit leaders in animal welfare, today unveiled its new brand identity, which reflects its ongoing mission and commitment to providing compassionate care, services and resources that support animals, their caregivers, and the Greater Houston community.
The new logo features a human silhouette with open arms preparing to embrace an animal figure, symbolizing Houston Humane Society’s inclusive, welcoming approach to all animals in need and celebrating the joy that comes from interactions between humans and animals.
The recently completed branding initiative included updating the organization’s mission, vision, and core values statements. Through leadership and staff interviews and workshops, the organization aligned on these values: unwavering compassion, inclusion and respect for all, integrity first, quality-focused, and community-centered.
“Our new brand reflects how Houston Humane Society serves Greater Houston’s animals with open arms, from beloved pets to injured and orphaned wildlife, by providing safe shelter, food, medical care, and second chances,” said Mary Beck, executive director of Houston Humane Society. “It also reflects our commitment to inclusive support for the animals and people who come to us for help, making sure that they feel valued, cared for, and served.”
The introduction of the new brand coincides with another upcoming Houston Humane Society milestone: the opening of its new veterinary clinic at 3100 West Fuqua Street designed to better serve the community’s need for accessible, high quality veterinary care. The clinic will open to the public in (MONTH).
“Houston Humane Society is uniquely positioned to help reduce pet homelessness and cruelty because of the hands-on way we support pets and pet families,” said Brett Eckert, board chair, Houston Humane Society. “We are proud of the collective input from across our organization that led us to this brand. It reflects our leadership among animal welfare organizations in understanding the importance of supporting not only animals, but also animal caretakers, enabling animals to remain safe and thriving.”
For more than 60 years, Houston Humane Society has been dedicated to ending overpopulation, cruelty and suffering for all animals. The nonprofit organization offers a wide range of services, including domestic pet and farm animal adoptions, quality veterinary care, behavior rehabilitation programs, weekly pet pantry food distributions, door-to-door community outreach, seasonal education camps for youth, partnerships through the Southeast Texas LINK Coalition, and specialized care for wildlife and exotic animals.
In 2025, Houston Humane Society served more than 19,000 animals, distributed more than 453,000 pet meals to pet households in need, performed more than 8,200 spay-neuter surgeries, administered nearly 39,000 vaccinations, and enabled nearly 3,000 animals to find their forever homes.
Soon Houstonians will see the new Houston Humane brand emblazoned on the organization’s vehicles, uniforms, building signage, social media channels, and more.
