Josie's Happy Tail

Chris and his wife adopted a bonded pair that were abandoned during Hurricane Harvey, and sadly, they lost of the dogs to cancer. Everyone was devastated. When Chris saw a video of Josie on her Doggy Day Out, he just knew she would be the perfect fit for their family to help them heal. Even though Josie had been adopted and returned because of behavior issues, he was sure she was supposed to be with them.

“We immediately fell in love with her and adopted her. He behavior issues were due to some abuse in her past, and the fact that she truly craved love. She easily made friends with our other pet, and were playing like old friends immediately.

“She is a huge part of our lives and we're forever grateful we were given the chance to bring her into our lives and give her the love she so deeply wanted, not to mention the love we receive from her! We are firm believers in the Doggy Day Out as it not only gives the pet a break from the kennel, it also lets people see how they react in public which is what we immediately noticed and gave us even more desire to drive over and meet her. We brought our girl Etta with us when we met Josie to make sure everyone got along. I believe Josie helped mend her broken heart as we as ours.”

Chris encourages people to be patient when they adopt a pet. He says, “When you adopt be patient with your new family member. They may have had a rough time before meeting you. Show them love and attention, and you will truly be rewarded with their love in return!”
