Lina had a hard start to life, but now she's loved and thriving:
"We adopted Lina back in June of 2025. Her, her mother and 6 other horses were rescued by the Houston Humane Society from a cruelty case in Brazoria County. The property had limited access to food and water and there were livestock carcasses scattered throughout. All of the living horses were severely malnourished and in need of immediate vet and farrier care. Lina was 6 months old at the time and still nursing on her mother. When we got her home she was terrified of EVERYTHING! She had minimal contact with people and did not trust anyone. Over the last 8 months Lina has learned how to be a horse. She has put on about 150 pounds and has filled out beautifully. She is halter broke, loads in and out of a trailer, stands like an angel to have her feet trimmed and has started basic round pen training. She's the first one to the barn when it's feeding time and the first one to greet you at the gate. She still has about 18 months before she goes under saddle but we have no doubt that she will take to saddle training like a true pro."
