Every year, right after the last bite of pie is gone and the holiday lights start to twinkle, something extraordinary happens. A global wave of kindness known as Giving Tuesday. It’s a reminder that even the smallest act of generosity can ripple out and change lives…especially the lives of those who can’t ask for help themselves.

 

Here at the Houston Humane Society, we see generosity in motion every single day. It looks like a volunteer sitting quietly beside a nervous pup, teaching her that hands can mean comfort, not fear. It looks like a child dropping coins into our donation box because “every dog deserves a home.” It looks like you, our community, choosing compassion again and again.

 

This December 2, 2025, we’re inviting you to join this movement and help us give what truly matters: hope, love, and life.

Since its creation in 2012, GivingTuesday has grown from a simple idea into a worldwide celebration of generosity. It reminds us that everyone has something to give; time, skills, kindness, advocacy, or a gift that helps a cause close to their heart. 

 

So, this Giving Tuesday, let’s come together for them. Because when we give, we all grow stronger. And Houston becomes a kinder, more compassionate city, one paw at a time.
