Brownie

Meet Brownie, this poor girl's world was turned upside down when she arrived at the shelter this weekend after her folks could no longer care for her.

 

Brownie is as golden as they come, with a beautiful smile to go along with her warm heart.

 

You may have noticed Brownie has something very unique about her. She is a dog with a cleft palate. A cleft palate is an opening between the mouth and the nose that happens when the tissues separating these two cavities do not grow together properly.

The severity of the condition can range from being purely cosmetic with no ill side effects which is the case for Brownie here. Too severe not allowing the dog to properly breathe.

 

It is rare when a dog is born with a cleft palate. Help make a difference in Brownies' life, she is just as special as her special mark.
