March 15 I was working a bark in the park night at Rice. I had no interest in adopting a dog since I have two cats, but decided to walk around and just look because I just love dogs. That's where I met her. The next day, I left work early and drove to the HHS to take her home. March 16th of this year will be a year that I have had Coffee now Missy. My world has been flipped upside down since her addition. I have given her a loving home and a full belly but she has given me so much more. When I adopted her, I learned that she was an incredibly anxious and fearful dog and I definitely had my work cut out for me. It has been a very long road for her and I, but through it all we have developed a very strong bond. She didn't trust me and I didn't trust her. We both had to learn to trust. She has taught me patience and opened up her heart to me. Even though we still have a long road ahead and many more challenges to face, her past will be in the past. I might never know exactly of all the things that have happened to her in the fist two years of her life but what I do know is how much love she is going to have for the rest of her life.
